Let’s get our feet wet, with our shoes on! Join in the search for macro invertebrates, salamanders, crawfish and other critters in the warming waters of White Oak Creek. What we find will give us clues about the health of the water and the life it supports. Back on dry land discover evidence of an ancient vanished sea and the strange and familiar life forms it harbored. A special guest educator from Brown County Soil and Water Conservation District will show us the way.

What is a meadow? Who lives there? To find out, we challenge you to a sensory scavenger hunt in our 30 acre Quail Conservation area. See, hear, taste, touch and smell your way into the tangled food web of this important and threatened habitat. Tap into your creativity to record your observations, indulge in nature’s sweet treats, and meet one of the ground nesting birds whose survival depends on the preservation of these habitats.

Things are heating up down at the pond. Frogs are courting, toads are trilling, fish are jumping, turtles are sunning, birds are nesting, insects are emerging. The miracle of life is springing forth all around. Mysteries are waiting to be unraveled and we need your help. Join in the quest for frogs and toads, egg masses, tadpoles and the meaning of metamorphosis. Feed fish and turtles, test water quality, and make a living food chain.
